Begonia aff. lambii (often circulating under the field collection number U688) is a highly sought-after, rare terrarium begonia native to the rainforests of Borneo. Cultivated for its striking, fuzzy chocolate-brown leaves, it is prized for its velvety texture and prolific pale pink or white blooms.
Key Details - Botanical Note: The abbreviation "aff." stands for affinis (Latin for "related to"). This indicates the plant is visually similar to or in the same complex as Begonia lambii, but has not been formally classified as the exact species.
Foliage: Leaves are soft, fuzzy, and deeply textured, often emerging almost black or dark brown. The undersides often contrast with rich reds or purples.
Growth Habit: Compact and creeping. It is a prolific bloomer compared to many other terrarium begonias.
