Sarracenia purpurea subsp. venosa (Southern Purple Pitcher Plant) is a compact, carnivorous perennial native to the US coastal plain. It features short, wide pitchers with distinct red veins and fine hairs. Optimal care requires full sun, nutrient-free soil (4:1 peat moss and perlite), and keeping the pitchers partially filled with rainwater.
These are plants for your bog garden. If you are new to growing carnivorous plants, please research to be sure you have the correct conditions. We recommend the International Carnivorous Plant Society website as an excellent resource for information.
Will be shipped in the pot.
